Chicken Jerky

April 9th, 2014

Deli poses with the latest arrival from the feed store. It's a bag of chicken jerky.

This chicken jerky is made in the U.S.A.  There was a scandal involving pet food from China a few years ago.  The pet food was contaminated with melamine, and the pets who ate it developed kidney failure.  Since that episode we have been careful to restrict our purchases of pet treats to locally manufactured items.

A Successful Adoption

January 25th, 2014

It didn't take long.  The day after this puppy's photo was posted on the Internet the humane shelter received a call from an inquiring human.  Tess was adopted to a good home shortly afterward.  This is what makes it worthwhile to be a foster puppy parent.  Foster care helps dogs socialize and makes it more likely for them to find good homes.
